Anamosa’s Citywide Spring Cleanup set for April 12

 

The city of Anamosa will hold its annual spring cleanup on Saturday, April 12. The event is scheduled to take place at the City Street Shop, located at 1210 Walworth Avenue, from 7 a.m. to noon.

 

The spring cleanup will proceed rain or shine, encouraging residents to take advantage of this free opportunity to dispose of their unwanted items. For free disposal, please provide proof of residence by bringing your water bill.

 

ITEMS ACCEPTED:

Furniture including sofas, rockers, recliners, mattresses, bicycles, metal bed springs, lawn mowers, swing sets, cabinets, doors, windows, flooring and anything made up primarily of metal, excluding appliances.  Tires will need to be removed from the rim to be accepted. Paint cans will be accepted if the lid is off and contents are either dried or absorbed by sawdust, cat litter, etc. 

   

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED:  

Appliances, TV’s, VCR’s, computers, radios, batteries, bricks, concrete, asphalt shingles, construction materials, lumber, siding, drywall, tractor tires, semi tires, antifreeze, waste oil, liquids of any kind, explosive materials, volatiles, flammables, poisons, any hazardous materials, and materials that are normally taken under the current solid waste curbside pickup program. No garbage will be accepted.
