Iowa Youth Football League: Learning experience

ANAMOSA

Opening their seventh season as members of the 5th-6th grade Northeast Iowa Youth Football League (NEIYFL), the Anamosa Blue and White teams hosted Cascade Gold and Blue teams Sunday, Sept. 8, at the high school football field.

The Blue team kicked off the campaign with a 22-6 setback against Cascade Gold before the Anamosa White team was handed a rough 50-0 defeat at the hands of Cascade Blue.

Anamosa Blue team members include: Cody Edson, Joe Brown, Christian Steffensmeier, Nick Wagner, Trae Klatt, Kaleab Smith, Nathan Keating, Ethan Paulsen, Keegan Neville, Karson Steffensmeier, Riley Hall, Colton Borst, Austin Wickham, Dominic Haas, Connor Andresen, Riley Houston-McDaniel, Justin Tjaden, Will King, Keaton Basinger and Seth Schoon.

Blue team coaches are: Eric Wichkam, Brad Paulsen and Pat Keating.

Anamosa White team members include: Tate Little, Katravia Burns, Sam Norris, Dustin Starn, Alex Casey, Taylor Hurt, Hank Smith, Nick Lehrman, Logan Wolfe, Coleman Dimmer, Walker Seehusen, Jacob Koopman, Wyatt Bickford, Caleb Otting, Aaron Bixler, Jacob Dimmer, Tony Beltramea, Adam Tuetken, Caleb Weber, Kyle Tuetken and Trey Jensen.

White team coaches are: Gary Marsh, Tim Dietiker and Gary Otting.

Anamosa Blue team remaining schedule: Sept. 15 at North Linn White, 3:30 p.m.; Sept. 22 vs. Midland, 5:30 p.m.; at Manchester West Delaware Black Krogman, 7:00 p.m. and Oct. 6 vs. Manchester West Delaware Orange Georgen Auto, 2:30 p.m.

White team remaining schedule: Sept. 15 at North Linn Burgundy, 2:00 p.m.; Sept. 22 at Dyersville Green, 1:00 p.m.; Sept. 28 at Midland, 6:30 p.m. and Oct. 6 vs. Manchester West Delaware Orange Nolz Chiropractic, 1:00 p.m.

Both Anamosa Blue and White teams will play their Bowl game in Dyersville the weekend of Oct. 12-13, with time to be determined.
