The Jones County Community Food Bank greatly benefited from the very successful food drive held last weekend.  Amy Keltner, who headed the Day of Caring, lined up volunteers throughout Friday with staff from the Jones Regional Medical Center - thank you all!

Particular thanks go to Fareway Grocery for letting us hold the drive at their Anamosa store.  Our wonderful store manager, Bryan Bucheit, worked with us to prep for the event.  He also set up in-store displays of the items most needed by the Food Bank.  And the planned one-day drive turned into two courtesy of Bryan’s creative thinking - he had store employees handle donations on Saturday.  Thank you Bryan and Fareway staff!

Our generous community members deserve thanks for their outstanding outpouring of support.  Many people donated food items or money and some donated both.  Thank you all!

In life, we never know when we or our neighbors or loved ones will have unexpected needs - and the most basic of these is food.  We do know that the need is great and that the Food Bank’s supplies need to be replenished on an ongoing basis.

Thank you all who gave so generously of your time and treasure.
