We should leave the Mon-Maq Dam alone. It has been a part of our community for over 100 years and, who knows, could be there for another 100 years. Besides, what is the worst thing that could happen if it were to fail? There at no buildings or structures downstream that would be damaged. If it failed, it would open the river passage and allow fish passage, which is what Jones County Conservation says they want, without spending hundreds of thousands of dollars.
