William ‘Bill’ Fitzpatrick

1945-2021

William “Bill” Fitzpatrick, 75, of Marion, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at home.

Private family graveside services will be held Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Wayne Zion Cemetery in Monticello.

Bill was born June 5, 1945 in Elwood, Ind. the son of William and Patricia (Conwell) Fitzpatrick. He married Linda Bunting July 15, 1977 at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion. Bill worked at Collins Radio for 39 years. He and Linda retired to their lake house in Montezuma in 2005. In his pastime Bill enjoyed boating on Lake Ponderosa, golfing, amateur radio and spending time with his grandsons. Bill was also an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife Linda, three daughters: Cindy (Rodger) Sams of Anamosa, Kelly (Kris Ary) Fitzpatrick of Cedar Rapids, Danielle (Shannon) Kopecky of North Liberty; four grandchildren: Austin (Brie) Rundall of Cedar Rapids, Dalton Sams of Coralville, Regan and Tysen Kopecky both of North Liberty; great-grandson, Henry Rundall; siblings: Sue (Tom) Henderson of Columbus, Ind., John (Bev) Fitzpatrick of Albion, Ind., sister-in-law, Sharon Bunting of Anamosa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Martin and Aurilla (Orr) Bunting.
