Rose I. Mere, 90, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully in her home Dec. 9, 2020, surrounded by her family.

A visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 at Dawson Funeral Services in Wyoming.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Wyoming United Methodist Church.

Burial will take place at a later date at the Wyoming Cemetery.

Rose was born June 26, 1930, in Wyoming, to William E. and Ruth (Parsons) McCalmant. Rose gave selflessly of her time and talents, often volunteering and helping others in need. She loved her flowers, gardening, reading, going to garage sales and playing Bingo. Her greatest love was for her family and friends. She was an endless teaser and enjoyed telling stories and laughing.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, David Harris Phelps, James Berry II and Duane Mere; daughters, Betty Phelps, Diane Smith and a son James Berry III; brothers: George, Robert, Charles, Vernon, Ivan, William and John; and sisters, Donna and Verna.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters: Ruth Thomsen, Brenda Farrington and Tracey Blades; sons, David Phelps and Jack Berry; brother, Benjamin McCalmant and sister Thelma Rohlena; 22 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brandy Berry and Tanika Phelps for their compassion and loving care.
